Any strong feelings about #linux distro Sparky? My machine running #Ubuntu is struggling to keep up in the GNOME desktop environment and I'm looking for a light weight distro for 15 year old hardware.

There are often subtle signs on when to upgrade, this one is a billboard.
I've found #Alpine as the best lightweight distro. #Gnome on it takes just 1GB almost same as #KDE, a little more than #XFCE.
Depends how you're using it though
I found some good material on YouTube about Alpine. Any suggestions you've found helpfu to get basic desktop functionality?
Yes, their Wiki has everything. After the initial configuration is complete, just type setup-desktop and it will let you select and install a DE: Gnome, KDE, XFCE, etc.

I hate throwing old things out just because Microsoft said so
