Rich people with excessive wealth might gamble to kill time, but they will never gamble to get more wealth, although the point of gambling (created and enabled by rich people) is exactly for gaining wealth.
Rich people: "don't gamble, as that will most likely make you lose all your money".
Poor people: "well, you left almost no money for me, so STFU, I may as well gamble".
Then rich people come with their scam casinos and market price manipulations (although they think to themselves all they do is just honest trading by the rules, they just happen to be smarter) to steal the money being gambled by the poor.

There is not some fixed pie of wealth. Rich people no how to use money and other resources to create more wealth. Poor people as a rule do not. If you only take bets that have more upside than downside you likely will do well.

The problem is that it is a game that gives you food by playing it. In nature you do not get food by playing games. In nature you have to create things to get things. Normal people know it and expect to live by these natural laws. Fraudsters create and run games that trick normal people into being poor. There is a thin line between good smart that uses energy efficiently to create things easier and faster without scamming others, and fraudster smart that scams others instead of creating anything at all.
Trading smart, running an exchange and running a casino is the same thing - a scam.
I respect rich people who are rich through running factories or in other ways get paid for direct physical services provided, without any financial derivatives, tax optimisations, etc. Even tax optimisation is not an arbitrage to push countries to evolve through competition, it is centralization through globalization, and basically just a scam game.
Yet, I am not saying that good people should not do bad things. They should do anything necessary to become more powerful than bad people, and then keep the power.
