I’m messing around with Applied Ballistics’ AB Quantum app. It’s a little overwhelming at first but I found applying it to a real world problem was helpful in getting more comfortable. I’ve not paid for anything yet (ever? I’m pretty happy with the features so far). First feature I like is the reticle database. I’m comparing the holds of 100 yard and 300 yard zeros. Notice how the 300 yard zero brings the the 300 and 400 yard holds closer to the horizontal crosshair? The makes holding for wind easier and more precise. What ballistics apps are you using? #gunstr #shooting #balistics #appliedbalistics #abquantum #grownostr #plebchain image image

This is why I run a 50yd zero on my 5.56 rifles. 50yd zero is same/similar at 300 and at most 1.5” hold up or down. So, any realistic distance I have basically a 3” circle without having to do any quick mental gymnastics.

These are the data the app needs. And it accepts the inputs below which I imagine are something like an air rifle. I don’t know if there are much in the way of supersonic air rifles. Given the popularity of subsonic ammo I’d expect a good result for slower bullets. Of get the app and play with it. I’ve not had to pay for anything I’ve done so far. image
