So true. The problem is the shittiness is gradual in small increments, so it takes a while to feel it.
I went 2.5 years without lifting & I only really noticed just how shitty I was feeling until after I started lifting again.
I'm only 6 weeks in & already look & feel much better. Turns that it doesn't take that long to rebuild much of the muscle/strength you previously had.

Nice! Glad you’re getting back into it. Ever since I started walking 15-20k steps a day my mood is dramatically improved. Whenever I start to feel depressed or something I just go for a walk and it’s pretty much instantly gone
I haven't added walking in yet.
I probably will but I'm just waiting for that moment where I put my shoes on & go.
