Last night while browsing the global feed, I saw a lot of users from other regions of the world without Zaps enabled. I'd like to take a moment and talk about this and why it's important for you to be able to not only send Zaps, but to receive them. First, what are Zaps? Simply put, Zaps are Nostr aware Bitcoin #Lightning tips. Zaps are tallied on user's notes, allowing them see how much each individual note is worth, to see it's value. Next, Zaps are better than likes. Since Zaps have a monetary value, they are perceived as the real signal indicator for each note. If you create interesting or content that others like, they can send you money for that content. This follows the value for value model. #OnlyZaps Not all #Bitcoin Lightning wallets support Nostr. You do not have to use any of these listed below, but the ones that are listed below do allow you to have your Lightning tips turned into Zaps and tallied on your notes and profile. A Lightning wallet that does not have Zap support still can receive Lightning tips. They just don't tell Nostr that you received one. What can you do with your Zaps? What can you do with the bitcoin that people have sent you? That's up to you! You can send Zaps to other users by tapping on their ⚑ icon and keep the sats flowing here on Nostr or you can use the bitcoin as money and buy goods and services. Each country around the world is a bit different, but you *should* be able to find items online to purchase. Or, if you'd like, you can hold onto them for a while as their value will increase over time. If you're not familiar with Bitcoin, just ask. There are plenty of Bitcoin folks on Nostr that would love to help and love to answer your questions. The following is a list of all Bitcoin Lightning wallets and services that support Nostr integration. strike.army vida.page stacker.news Bitcoin Jungle ln.tips (LightningTipBot) Geyser Bitcoin Beach Current (Client+Wallet) Wallet of Satoshi Zebedee Alby AnonSats **Advanced** Self Custody: BTCPay Server nostdress

Main reason I haven’t connected LN wallet is concerns about privacy and everyone seeing who I send zaps to and also I’m not sure how private LN transactions are. Not sure how private a @zeus wallet connected to an LN node would be if I set this up. Welcome any advice and/comments.
I think everyone seeing who you zapped on Nostr it's no different from seeing notes that you liked, I think its harmless. Custodial LN wallets like WoS can see your txs but they don't know who you are if you are a nym in Nostr.
Something like this could have all the clients, a brief explanation of the main configurations within #nostr so that the new ones or anyone can consult it.
Maybe a note like yours pre-loaded in bookmarks, so the user after reading and learning will be able to remove or keep it. We tell you when you start the client app to go to the bookmarks to learn more about #nostr
Wow! This is great, #[2] , thank you so much! Will embed it into the Welcome to Nostr onboarding guide asap!!! Thanks for the heads up, Tanel πŸ«‚
It's not dependent on your wallet, but rather your Nostr client. You want a Nostr client that allows you to submit anonymous Zaps, like Damus. Otherwise you can send someone a regular, non-zap tip but clicking the lightning address in their bio.
A mΓ los zap me han ayudado compra comida, medicamento, pagar servicio y otros gastos. Cada zap es bendiciones
thank you ! so fundamental for the development of #nostr ! I just started to propose clients to show some special UX when there is an actual #zapathon πŸ™Œ
