I’m iOS and Damus so critical path is upload gif saved to my device as media. That’s it.

Are you reuploading the same gif over and over again or referencing the original link from the first time you uploaded it?
I always reupload from my library. Or if I don’t have it > search engine > find gif > save to device > upload

You should make a notes with links to previously uploaded gifs so that you don’t have to reupload them every time.
