I visited Croatia several times in my youth. Had no idea that there was serious inflation too. Stjepan‘s aunt back then did already the „Saylor move“ by getting a loan and paying it off through the devaluation of their currency. After Euro got introduced in Croatia couple of years ago, inflation skyrocketed even more, with price apprecition went 4x in touristic places and living coast went up at least 50% on average from them, talking about services/food. Bills didn't go up that much. Of course like I was saying depends on place, the more touristic the more price went up.. for example Dubrovnik is like Montecarlo, where you'll easy pay a small beer from 6€ to 8€ and before covid and Euro was like 10/25 Kunas, so like 1.5€ to 3€. You can notice already a different seasonally working population change, as before were more from north-innerpart Croatia people or east European, now it's from South east Asia, mostly Nepal, as they accept even less salaries. .. my intuition says they reached or are reaching peak level pirces and bubble for Airbnb and vacancy homes should stabilise a bit, or it will burst badly. For example a square meter in Dubrovnik goes from 4/5k to 10/12k € in the old town. Insane.
