Hey man, I'm not going to butt heads with you, I think that is spot on. I would rather that people didn't have to travel to the other side of the earth to make a dollar though is the only side of the coin.

You’re welcome to butt heads, I’ve nothing against the Irish, it’s in my own bloodline, I’m just describing reality on the ground in Aus.
We got your younguns after the GFC with their socialist ideas, they got good paying jobs and all the benefits of our version of socialism so they never grew out of it and were encouraged to join the system which they did.
Can’t blame them leaving the Irish collapse for Aus which uniquely rode out the GFC thanks to our low debt-to-GDP. It’s just 20/20 hindsight which shows what a bad idea it was for us to let them come here permanently and solidify the leftism which is thoroughly entrenched in Aus.
You are making some points that I've honestly never heard before, and it's really interesting.
I distinctly remember the GFC, and the exodus out of Ireland that ensued.
Anyone that I knew personally, was interested in making some money and coming home.
You're making the point that there were stay behinds that somehow altered the political environment? I've never heard that argument before.
When did you first notice this?
