To steel man here, I think citreas project would require something very close to the 143 byte so for that specific use case, it would be more healthy and economical for the network to use OP return instead of fake pub keys. But again thats making changes for a start up scam company and how that didn't just get met with total hostility is upsetting to see for the state of the community

It isn’t making the change for a company it is making a change knowing that there are shittier ways to put data into the chain that can’t be stopped. So the change is to make the utxo less polluted. The csam stuff is nonsense. It’s perfectly possible to embedd csam and other “illegal” content on chain in a bip444 compliant manner. Pretending that anything software based is always difficult is not being honest. It was difficult to use email at one point. It was difficult to use the internet at one point. Nothing software based will remain difficult for long. Changing consensus especially with the reactive method proposed is an attack on bitcoins immutability and it’s astonishing that people are even considering it over something like spam. Spam is a forever war.
