20 years is a long time. It’s been bad for about 4 now. Long past due.
After my last round of antibiotics, all sorts of health issues vanished almost like they went into remission. I’m thinking I’ve been dealing with infection a long long time.

Ouch 4 yrs is a long time. My wife had a similar issue. It gets to the point where you don't even realize you're in pain half the time, though it's reflected in your mood and energy levels.
Glad antibiotics cleared it for now. But I'm sure it'll come back again if you don't get the root (no pun intended) problem solved. 😬
