Disagree. Your VPN has the anonset of 1. Hiding in the crowd in this case is preferable.
It's Tailscale's VPN honestly. I'm not skilled enough to roll my own wireguard connections.
i tried once, failed miserably
Yeah, my thought exactly. It's not easy to get this right.
Somebody else's VPN is just a way to track you down and sell your data for their own profit.
Wait, how do you build a personal VPN?
I work on health care. Every corp has their own VPN. :)
Shameless plug:
I'll try this out, thanks 👍

What are your thoughts on Orbot?
It works. Better than not having it.
Damn you broke that down nicely. It seems a lot easier than I thought it was.
Orbot seems to break my phone, and I don't like sending my encrypted private data from tor node to tor node all over the world.
Thanks for the resource 👍🫡
Not your open hardware and firmware, not your privacy 😂
Your own VPN is actually just your VPS's provider VPN but with none of the advantages if sharing an IP address with other people.
Your VPS provider still can see all your traffic...
There is no way to use clearnet without one party knowing all your traffic.
There's also plenty of tools and scripts that automate the guide but I think wireguard is so simple and easy to configure that it's worth it to try to do it manually so that people can gain a basic understanding.
#Invizible is 10 times better than #Orbot

Well it's complicated, isn't it?
With a proper vpn like Mullvad or IVPN, you are hinding in between other people. With a selfhosted VPN you are not.
Not your RELAY, not your privacy.
Yep
What's better about it?
