yes polls can be used to manipulate - all you have to do is say a poll shows most people believe X and the average person will choose to also believe X because most people are afraid of thinking differently from others lest they be judged. in this way you you can program people to believe whatever you want. in our particular case here the poll is brainwashing people into accepting communism because ostensibly that's what everybody wants and you don't want to be the outcast, right ?
