Generally you only need to login if you are going to make a WRITE operation
The app only needs to know who you are until that point, which could be quite a while

Verifying 3rd party service with a code dmd to your account would authenticate any existing service with nostr credentials. It doesn't even have to touch nostr except to dm the user. The service can do whatever they do now after that with their own servers. This is the way I believe.
