Digital ID’s aren’t inherently doomsday by default, it depends on how they’re implemented and the privacy + features built into it. What do you mean “Bitcoin is tracked”? As if KYC and a public blockchain wasn’t already a giveaway lol
I agree with both of your statements. I am definitely pro-privacy. But it’s still true what I said. Digital ID’s can be revolutionary, convenient, and private at the same time, it just matters how they’re implemented.
I do always try to be more pragmatic about things too though. For me — realism > idealism
I am sure they will be implemented with our care and safety and privacy as their highest priority.
After all they are big corporations and governments, they have never let us down before. We need more licenses and taxes, rules, proof of identity (unless it is to vote).
I am not a fan of corrupt corporations nor governments, obviously. But at least acknowledge the nuance to the situation given something like Advanced Data Protection is available for anyone to use on Apple. It’s not binary. Also see, you want ID but only for certain things where it benefits your views. Not arguing for or against, just pointing it out
