There is no experiment as grand as the American experiment. The bill of rights. The first amendment. It’s what makes the united states the United States. No blood, no religion, no gender or ethnicity. But ideals, rights. Inherent, human rights. To be an American is to agree on a set of ideals and principles. One of which is “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” I’ve never felt more that that could quite literally be the price. If they killed Charlie, they can kill you. Or me. The American experiment is being killed as we speak. We have those that agree with these ideals. And those that want to destroy it, and thus America. The older I get the more I believe that power is the key to governance. Dominate your enemy (peacefully duh). The left does this and wins often.
