First I have to make a proper saddle with one of these pieces of cow's femur bone.
Industrial saddles are plastic, gummy, rubberish, soft and flexible. Useless for sound transmission. Seems like purposely they make them sound absorbing, the opposite of what they need. In such an important part of sound transmission, the industry usually fucks it up.
So, my job for years is to make proper bone saddles for almost every guitar coming to the workshop. Brittle, responsive, hard, tone producing and sound transmitter.
Properly fit inside the channel of the bridge, very tight so no vibration is lost in friction.
