i think that obsidian uses markdown, which is just a plain text format, i found this for printing: https://markdowner.github.io
also, i reccomend switching away from obsidian as it's proprietary, personally i use logseq
I'm nearing the point of abandoning exporting straight to PDF out of Obsidian, but I don't think I'm ready to abandon Obsidian altogether just yet. I'm going to keep markdowner in mind though; I'd have to self host it before I'd trust it with muh docs but it might be worth it if its smooth enough.
I use pandoc for Markdown -> PDF -> printer.
Once, when that didn’t work for an invoicing system that I wrote, I used pandoc for Markdown -> HTML5-> PDF -> printer.

Pandoc is one of the things I’ve been fighting with, though I’m pretty sure my problem(s) actually lie with the external LaTeX software 🤷♂️
