Music will always find a way to be free. But trending to free means erosion if quality if the creators cant get value back.

Totally agree, being free to consume but not free to produce just means ever worsening quality. Sad times.
If I break even on my forthcoming record, I will feel very lucky. But I created it because I wanted to see it exist in the world, not just to make a profit.
