i hope he considers building a nostr client to improve reliability
π€£πππ. Maybe get rid of their KYC wallet... or solve the year long notifications bug that they claimed to have fixed (which they haven't)... maybe fix the notifications scroll issue (which came with their newest update)... or fix the Amber login issue (it logs me out of Amber every time i try)... or maybe charge $5 a month instead of $70? Just some thoughts.
let him, whose client is without faults, cast the first stone
What a dumb response. Primal has an increasing number of issues with each update. Two more showed up with your latest one. And don't fool yourself into believing that people, who aren't Primal users, aren't discussing this issue while similtaneously finding solutions outside of Nostr.
what's the matter with Primal? it's one of the best so far, i couldn't ask for a better one, on iOS
Well, you're just speaking on your behalf. I've seen more and more iOS users post complaints. As for myself and other android users, two new bugs showed up with their latest update: it logs me out of Amber everytime i try to use it to log in and it also scrolls right back to the top of my notifications after a few seconds of scrolling through them. They also claimed that the notifications bug was fixed even though certain notifications disappeared a few hours after installing the newest update. So they didn't fix anything on mine or others' end (most likely).
Fyi, You should try Jumble.
I hope you're not paying $70 a month.
To be fair to Primal, they do have NWC nowadays.
The KYC wallet is for normies noobs who love daddy gov, and can't be bothered to click more than 3 buttons.
Buddy, that is only one issue out of many. The fact that it is even an option to KYC is an issue in itself.
Lol... dude you have a Primal LN address.
Yeah, I signed up for it because people were saying it was powered by Strike, and I was just curious.
I was using CoinOs before that, might swap back now that you mentioned it.
Wallets are kind of silly on Nostr, I'd really wish they'd let people have multiple wallets, one as a default, and others for redundancy if the primary wallet fails as is common on Nostr.
I agree, it would be more optimal for people to use self-hosted solutions.
There are so many options. Primal purposefully neglects this so new users will use their KYC option.
That's not a terrible idea.
I swapped back to coinos, lol.
Well, it doesn't say that in your profile. But, you do you. I don't care enough to convince one person.
based lmao
On Amethyst.
Clients can be silly sometimes.

If I was giga-based I do it with Zeus, Alby, or another self-hosted solution tbh.
But right now I'm not at that point, I'll let coinos handle my ~$2 to $5 in zaps that I'll probably just end up giving back out to some other person eventually.
That's why i suggest Jumble these days.
I'll have to check it out, I've heard some people talk about it.
Is it mobile, or pc?
I mainly use mobile clients personally but sometimes dabble on pc/web clients just to explore them.
one of the nostrix things. Profile changes may take some time to propagate across relays. some clients don't even fetch updated profile information when you view profiles. they show whatever you've got cached.
"Blockstream Coin"?
It's a web app.
we kinda figured out why many people watching streams via Primal are being ignored when they try to participate in chats. I hope you guys figure it out too.
It lets users curate their feeds, through the choosing of individual relays, instead of having them all clumped up together at once.
It's the reality of what is commonly referred to as "Bitcoin," when it's been anything but since 2017. I still utilize (and receive my paycheck in) it because it's still objectively better than fiat, and that's despite its active sabotaging as a currency.
That's not what i meant. Is it an actual shitcoin or is it some new feature or something else created by the company?
Is it jumble . social , or is it another link?
Npub, or link would help to explore it.
Just go on to your browser amd type in jumble.social
Officially, it's the abbreviation of Binance Smart Contracts, which can be underpinned by any coin they support; basically, it's the worst of Shitereum combined with the worst of various other shitcoins.
As for Blockstream, they have Liquid.
But Blockstream still doesn't support shitcoins? Right?
If you don't consider Liquid a shitcoin, no.
I'm sure you can guess my stance.
Have they started requiring actual KYC? I put in entirely fake data when they asked questions about country, etc. No ID was required. Has that since changed?
I don't care for liquid. But, I understand your perspective. I, myself, have never used it, but as long as they aren't supporting the shitcoins I'm referring to, i have no problem with Blockstream.
Not that i know of, but it can't stop them from tracking your IP address, regardless of implementing fake info. And it makes matters eve worse for those who pay for Primlal premium or pro.
It was light KYC when I did it about a month or two ago.
This is what the wallet screen looks like for sign-up.
No ID upload, or anything like that (yet).

Doesn't matter. They can track your IP from notes alone.
With jumble or amethyst you, at least, have the ability to use Tor.
Weβd love to try and solve this problem. Could you provide some examples of clients where you see chat messages that arenβt on Primal?
Apps need to exclude wot / social graph from live event chats and let the creator moderate their chat. We cannot have each app taking a different approach to how chat is displayed (or not being displayed) in nostr live events. Main reason that we see different chats (and even zap alerts) in different apps. It's the creators job to moderate (or not moderate) their chat and any additional chat options should be A) disabled by default and B) optional.
