Yes its a new feature where it automatically detects the ones it needs to use. I assume its the relays of your followers so they can see your stuff well.

Well fuck that shit. Its fucking horrible. Lags like crazy. Damn shame. This was the only mobile app I liked. Guess its all desktop now

Im sure theyre working on optimization now, it's awesome that we we'll never again see "event loading or not in your relay list" but it's definitely slower and less stable.
If you don't like it because it lags to much add a proxy relay and it will just use that instead.
