Right now, I’m running just a single solar panel with a maximum output of 440 W – far from enough to power a typical ASIC miner, which draws around 3000 W at 230 V. My miners, however, run on 5 V, which comes with a few advantages: I don’t need an inverter and can power them directly via DC. I can also toggle individual chips on or off – perfect for working within a tight power budget. Whether this setup will prove worthwhile in the long run is hard to say, but it’s definitely fun to experiment with.
