it gets me thinking that as much as we should use cryptography to maintain trust, trust should by by no means depend on cryptography.
human societies and communities, especially in small circles and communities have various ways to ensure trust of identity/action/etc.
it might be an indication that we shouldn't depend on large scale social formations and maintain decentralized living with people having true autonomy and control of their social existences.
