This is straight out of the standard Department of "Justice," Convictions-R-Us playbook. First, you pick a team of 12 stupid people. Then you lie to them and tell them that the judge is the judge of the law, but they are only judges of facts who must abide by the judge's decisions on the law. It helps if the jurors went to public schools and also if you tell them how important and appreciated their service is. Throw in a few expert witnesses "As Seen on TV." Spin your magic in the closing argument, and *voila*, you have a guaranteed conviction. That was the outcome you planned to begin with, right? The way they jailed Irwin Schiff until he died? The way they jailed Larkin Rose, and many other members of the tax honesty movement? Pardon my cynicism, but I've seen it over and over, both from a distance and up close and very personal.🤮😠😡🤬

this is SOP in the us monopoly kangaroo court system when the state is the "aggrieved" - in many british derived systems all over the world now they even have kicked the jury out and not replaced it with a tribunal, they are just summary jurisdictions, a dog and pony show to make it seem like the process is legitimate and yes, i did one of these kinds of things against them kidnapping my little 50cc motorcycle twice judgeypoo subjected me to almost an hour of reading irrelevant case law that had nothing to do with my claim, which struck at the heart of grandfathered in law from 1624, the statute of monopolies, which in fact makes all such laws about copyright and taxation void, but they just pretend that i'm not making a valid argument and slam the gavel anyway

and yes, that law also technically should nullify the jurisdiction of any summary jurisdiction you can say at least this in favour of the US legal system, they at least make the show convincing, even if the action is exactly the same
