OK cool - but can it only make a PWA not a native app? Privacy for my members is a big deal because it's for personal growth and journaling and people don't want their private info and conversations in the app available to everyone.

The Winning Formula for You:
Your App : A custom, private platform (like Mighty Networks) where you control the experience, the privacy, and the experiments.
The Money (ZBD): We plug Bitcoin/Lightning into it so it feels like a Bitcoin app (Zaps, Rewards), but without the technical headache of managing keys and relays.
Exception:
The only reason to use Nostr is if you want your Public Feed to be readable by people on Primal/Damus who aren't members of your Lab
