Hey Snowden, With carrying a phone you especially mean the 'smartphone' or is the old school 'dumbphone' also a risk to carry around (less I guess), seeing the assumption is made we all have a smartphones? I believe it would be healthy if people just left their phone connected to charger (f the outside "convenience"). Give it the feel of the old 'home phone' next to a chair. Do your thing with it when seated, but leave it when you leave your chair. Take it with you if you travel a bit longer than a day or so and keep it off-line or in some faraday bag when you do. Not taking heroin is easy if you never had a hit, same goes for one of them phones. Go cold turkey if you're addicted and you know it.
