I have UPS on my electronics and these voltage suppressors on all appliances. Still, they fail and need to be replaced annually. Also this stuff isn’t cheap. $150 battery to protect a $250 TV? Ugh. I mean for me it’s fine, I can afford it, but this issue affects the whole town. Everyone is pissed off at having to replace their fridge all the time.

You seem well situated to transition to off-grid solar with local demand response. Basically max out the solar capacity of your roof, use it to top up a house battery, mine bitcoin with the excess power. If your solar generation is less than electrical demand, top up the battery from the grid. Is there a more stable grid time where the voltage swings are less severe? Requires up front capital investment from the homeowner and skilled labor to install and maintain. Y'all have a ton of real estate capital, low cost of labor, abundant energy. When I think of good geographies for this model I think of Costa Rica. Do you have any ASIC suppliers nearby?
