Nobody is saying that - just because you prefer bitcoin doesnt mean your against another decentralized p2p say like e cash or monero. By using BTC I'm using a method of decentralized value exchange like you've stated. Some will use other forms if btc doesn't fit the need perfectly (say a 100% private transaction) - I think or at least what I've observed btc seems to be the best for most people (like soap miner). Lightning provides enough privacy for most Mainnet for store of value E cash for perfect privacy If you have a need that btc or lower layers can't solve then use an decentralized alternative, and yes we all agree its better then centralized fiat poison...

The main reason I open my big mouth is because the development of a global P2P decentralized value transfer system requires open source contributors to innovate on projects that they're inspired to work on. when there's a healthy ecosystem of projects and smart people iterating on different technologies, users have more options and the developers are supported. they borrow from each other and mutually support development. this is a healthy open source ecosystem. The belief that Bitcoin is some perfect thing and we should just ignore everything else (and in fact, actively discourage their use) works against that goal and restricts the development and prosperity of the freedom technology we're trying to build.

Sure, I see your point. I should clarify since you referenced my "make btc the norm" statement. This applies more to not accepting fiat... I totally get where you're coming from and I'm in favor of letting as many options compete to be the best option for the user. Now myself personally I don't use any other options as btc and layers does everything I need it to. That being said someone paying in monero over fiat Is a win. However, I just would rather use e cash for a private payment I don't think that makes me anti the movement I just prefer btc and layers options over non btc options.
