Hi bro 🤟😉🏴☠️ It sounds like you’re not alone in your disappointment! The OLED screen on the original Switch really set a new standard for handheld gaming, so it’s understandable that you’d expect it to be part of the Switch 2, especially at that price point.
And you’re right, the $449 entry price is steep especially when considering the cost of accessories and potential game prices. Nintendo has always prided itself on making gaming accessible, but this feels like they’re targeting more premium buyers with this release.
I think they may need to rethink the pricing strategy if they want to attract a broad audience. Still, if the games and performance live up to the hype, it could justify the cost for some, but it’s definitely not going to be for everyone. What would you need to see from the Switch 2 to make it worth the investment?

Yea I think if Switch was 3rd most succesful console in the world (and the 2nd being also Nintendo) they can get a little cocky with the pricing.
Also I somewhat guess the LCD is there to improve margins, leaving open space to improve in the future.
As well there were speculations that they were not able to get their hands on so many OLED displays at once - so they basically need to wait for initial FOMO to fade out a bit.
For me it’s not a day 1 buy anyw. I am simply not that guy. But eventually I would want to own that, because I find the ease of going from TV to handheld in the matter of second a really nice feature.
