This has been on mind for ages, similar setup, but without the need for solar or any pumps
A tank on an elevated platform
A hood to capture rain water
And gravity fed drip system
Just thinking out loud

Elevated platform, how quaint. Bill Gates owns the water rights, your drip system feeds his profits.

That's what we tried initially, except we ran the house gutter straight into the rain barrel.
If you can find a drip irrigation system that works with low pressure, let me know. They all seem to be designed for hose pressure.
