Huh? ๐
I thought the majority of Japanese at the very least welcomed her warmly?
Maybe I'm m wrong ๐
Nooo, many people in Japan donโt support her, and we want her to take back what she said.
Whatโs destroying Japan is Takaichi and her supporters โ the right-wing netizens.
And the media as well.๐ฎโ๐จ
Is the right wing very strong in Japan?
Tbh I don't think exist any hard left-leaning parties on Japan. At the very least maybe a little centre left, but compared to the USA, all parties in Japan look conservative
Even though most people in Japan are centrist or have no party affiliation, right-leaning ideas still hold a significant amount of influence in Japanese politics.
This is exactly the moment
Yes, thatโs right. The previous prime minister was center-left and things were going fairly well, but he was pushed out. ๐
Japan does not even have that many foreigners right?
Yes. But Japanโs an island country with a pretty inward-looking culture.
So even though Japan doesnโt actually have that many foreigners compared to other countries, the anxiety grows really easily.
And the right-wing crowd is using that and hyping it up
