While the network effect is very powerful, we don't know how much of BTC's success over BCH, or conversely, BCH's struggles, is due only to network effect, compared to how much is due to dirty politics and deception. While I recommend every read / listen to Hijacking Bitcoin, an easy to see example of the unfair playing field BCH has been subjected to from it's inception is readily apparent in it's deliberate absence from Bitrefill, when in almost every other comparable situation (Venmo, Bitcoin ATMs, etc) BCH sits side by side with BTC.
