sorry for the slow damus updates lately, damus is an “old” nostr codebase and i’ve been spending lots of time rewriting all of its internals so it can be the fastest and best nostr client again. Thanks for your patience 😓

Same here. We are all legacy code already. :(
Performance is always the un-sexy part of development. But it will make all the other things work so much better, which in turn will make it easier to push out more new things. Doing it at this stage is brilliant. Keep it up!!

Refactoring?
Two things I’m looking for in the new Damus:
- User and content search that really works
- Easier onboarding to relays for new users
That would dramatically improve the experience IMHO.
It’s crazy that you call it old as hands down this current version is the best mobile Nostr app I’ve tried between iOS and Android. Fewest crashes, fewest UX confusion from app features, and least amount of “lag” from relays hanging. Looking forward to see the updated version.
