recruiting the general public is an automatic fail unless you want even more of the same problems that exist on traditional social media. those problems already show up here.
more is not always (or even usually) better.
the problem with social media is not social media, it is in fact antisocial, bigoted, low IQ people. aka the general public. they ruin everything they touch.
i don't have a solution but the Internet was just fine until "any idiot" was about to get on... and then "any idiot" ruined it.
we need smart people and we need creators to be supported. they are not on here at the moment unless what they create is BTC related.

What I'm reading "let's keep nostr small and not try to scale it"
more users more money lol
not exactly. i am just saying what will happen if the general public comes in droves. I'm not saying to keep it one way or the other.
the general public can not handle differences, reality, or people they don't agree with. is that what people want on here?
so far on here I don't really block anyone except bots and maybe 1 or 2. i specifically will argue with people on here and still be friendly. that does not happen on FB, X, etc.
why try to scale it? what about letting it happen organically?
why does it need to be scaled? what are the benefits and drawbacks?
i am. advocating for being wise, considering why to try to scale it, and for sure looking at the drawbacks.
as a poet/artist on here, I do no get a lot of traction. why? because it's BTC centered. that's not my problem or even a problem at all. it's just the reality of Nostr, which has a definite BTC slant.
that said, everyone should emote and zap my work 🤣 JK. but there is a truth in that. if people want more non BTC content then perhaps they should encourage creators by emoting their work?
my 2 sats opinion.
(i think questions are better than answers ❤️😇🤙)
