How on earth is that possible? What do you even get in return?
I got VAT and tarrifs on imported shit, no income tax... and I feel robbed.

Think about what you get in return - shitty services, corruption, spending on frivolous nonsense, billions spent on 'aid', unfettered migration and demonization of the local population that opposes it via fines and imprisonment.

Well they do it in aegal frame they created. Use the same frame, move in another jurisdiction or start some trust and tell them to fuck off with their own laws. I pay 4%.
When you have dependents, it's not so easy to abandon your family. Ultimately, a man has to take care of his loved ones.
In Europe if you are employed around half (some places and higher incomes more) is taken right away as income, social security and medical taxes. Then 25% + as VAT on everything.
However long term capital gains are 0% in many countries and local tax authorities are not IRS so offshore shell companies in tax havens are quite common (and legal).
