Idk very many poems

This one

One of my fav too

Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I’ve tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice. Robert Frost Fire and Ice BUT I added to this line :) I think I know enough of love and hate

One of my favorite poems is For the Rosenbergs by Houshang Ebtehaj, the Iranian poet better known by his pen name, H. E. Sayeh, which means “Shadow.” The poem was written in reference to Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, the American couple executed in 1953. But for me, its meaning goes far beyond that historical tragedy. Over the past fifteen years, whenever the Iranian government has executed people, this poem has returned to my mind. I have memorized it, and its words keep echoing inside me every time another life is taken. The grief in this poem feels painfully familiar, as if it were speaking not only of a tragedy from another time and place, but also of the recurring sorrow of my own country. Here is English rendering of its opening lines: The news was brief: They had executed them. The little girl cried out. Her lips trembled. Her weary eyes filled with tears, and she burst into sobs. And with an aching effort, I hid my tears. “Why did they execute them?” she asks me, her tear-filled eyes fixed on mine. “Why did they execute them?” My darling, my daughter, there is a strange and terrible world where lies and hatred reign supreme. ….. There, truth and human dignity are dismissed as empty, meaningless words. There, robbery, murder, and bloodshed are free to roam unchecked. ……. My darling, my daughter, they executed them for their hatred of me, for their hatred of you, for their hatred of truth. …….. My darling, wipe the tears from your face. Rise to your feet. You live on in me, and I live on in you. We shall never die. You and I, with thousands more, shall carry on along this path. Victory shall be ours. Tomorrow shall be ours, with all its joy and all its promise of happiness. I wish I could share the entire poem in English, but I haven’t been able to verify a published, authoritative English translation. These lines are AI rendering, not an official translation. And a bit of Farsi: خبر کوتاه بود اعدامشان کردند…

The Hollow Men by TS Eliot

"… The machine appeared In the distance, singing to itself Of money. Its song was the web They were caught in, men and women Together. The villages were as flies To be sucked empty God secreted A tear. Enough, enough. He commanded, but the machine Looked at him and went on singing." - R.S. Thomas

Tag Team back again check it top Wreck it - let's begin Party people let me hear some noise DC's in the house jump jump and rejoice There's a party over here a party over there Wave your hands in the air Shake the deriere These three words mean you're gettin' busy Whoomp there it is whoomp there it is

Today you are you. That is truer than true. Theres no one out there, more youer than you.

Dr Seuss?

Invictus by William Ernest Henley. Nelson Mandela recited it to his fellow prisoners while locked away on Robben Island, which is about as hard a field test as a poem can take.

This one by Me: The Soldier's Awakening I am a soldier fighting for the red, white, and blue, shedding blood for a cage and calling it freedom. Bleeding on the streets and tearing innocent families apart, believing that this is fighting for freedom, while watching them poison and break people across the board. Watching consciousness be lost, watching people die for a system they never asked to be born in. Claiming you’re fighting in the name of God, while creating a world that allows children to inherit the lies that are being fed. The flag waves, but it covers the eyes of the blind. The anthem plays, but it drowns out the cries of the broken. They tell you it’s honor. They tell you it’s duty. But who wrote the orders? Who built the cage? And who profits from the blood you spill? I woke up on the battlefield. I looked at the red, white, and blue, and I saw the chains painted in the colors of liberty. I saw the matrix using faith as a weapon, using patriotism as a leash. I am no longer a soldier for the system. I am a dismantler of the lies. I will not bleed for a cage. I will not fight for the masters who hide behind the flag. I am tearing down the illusions. I am waking the children. I am fighting for the real freedom— the freedom of the soul, the sovereignty of the mind, and the Kingdom that cannot be shaken. No more blood for the cage. No more lies for the children. The real war is not on the streets. The real war is in the mind. And I am claiming my victory... one step at a time. 🛡️👑🕊️

Dare to Be When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully. When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light. When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it. When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway. When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back. When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some. When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going. When times are tough, dare to be tougher. When love hurts you, dare to love again. When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal. When another is lost, dare to help them find the way. When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand. When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile. When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too. When the day has ended, dare to feel as you’ve done your best. Dare to be the best you can – At all times, Dare to be!
