Only boomers use e-mail. The cool people use NIP-17 DMs.
I've been using it since 2019, or maybe before.
Overall, it works. I've been thinking about switching to Tutanota, because Proton keeps changing their app interface, and never for the better. Their web interface has a custom editor that's had some annoyance-bugs for years. Also, they limited the number of folders to three.
It hasn't been bad enough to make me actually switch yet, and I haven't had any issues with sending or receiving.
Quais clientes já implementaram?
I switched to Proton Suite earlier this year and am very happy

i use it, it's free software and works fairly well
NIP-17?
Proton tools (incl. mail) works pretty well, no problems so far.

There are always somebody saying that to all NIPs. It is what we have. MLS and similar schemes are way too complicated for any client to implement and will probably stay isolated in very specific DM clients.
Im using proton mail for 8 months now, there are some considerations:
On desktop you can use the mail bridge, so you can use any mail client you want. But that means running an extra piece of software.
On mobile you’re stuck with the proton mail app, no options there.
You cannot in a supported way use it with other apps or software that needs to access your mailbox for reading your or any other mailbox (for automations or automatically importing stuff etc.)
For business account users there is a way to send email via other apps or devices (think notifications, scan to email etc)
This all has to do with how your mailbox is stored encrypted on their servers.
The web mail client is decent though, if that’s your thing.
Overall I’m happy with the switch
