I mean... the cypherpunks will choose the open and free system in which they are in control, and not Elon (and equivalents). It really doesn't matter who calls themselves a "cyperpunk" or not. If you do not live by cypherpunk ideals, you're larping. I don't make the rules and it's also ok to be a larp.

I always thought it was cool that Ralph Merkle, an underperforming student with no knowledge of cryptography, made one of the biggest contributions to solving public key cryptography by simply being able to approach seemingly impossible problems in a novel way. You don’t have to be a math savant or a supercoder to make a huge difference in the fight against a pending dystopian technocracy.

I define LARPING as a self-proclaimed cypherpunk or Bitcoin maxi as someone who still has a credit card in his name.
