It's easy to convince yourself that your greivances are some kind of protection. They are not. Forgiving someone who wrongs you does not require sacrificing any boundary. Forgiveness is purely a matter of your own heart. As long as you hold on to the feeling that somebody owes you something, you are not free. You continue to give someone else the power to decide. Forgiveness lets you close the account and move forward.
