Really appreciated this post/video addressing the roots. What about the old adage that systolic does go up with age? It seems crazy that they have designates 120 as THE number. ๐
Also, one piece of advice I got this year was to donate blood once a quarter which made so much sense, and has helped me for sure.

Yes, it can go up without being a major risk factor for disease, but it depends on the rest of the picture and how high it's going. Also, the body can adjust to elevations in blood pressure (to a degree), but sudden changes (spikes) are more risky (episodic hypertension).
