Saylor isn't a buffoon, he's a spook serving as the frontman for a highly orchestrated, long term social attack on Bitcoin that has multiple potential layers of success ranging from total irrelevance of BTC (best outcome for spooks) down to Bitcoin dominance but with high levels of influence maintained by the State (worst outcome for spooks that can still be considered success).

Maybe Saylor. Maybe others. We have to assume this as a possibility. I would not claim such a thing lightly but my worry is that the protocol gets too complicated on purpose.
The very original Bitcoin was accessible to any serious developer. It could be understood and replicated by engineers. Today there is so much going on and much is above the heads of "serious developers" or engineers. This frightens me. If an elite makes Bitcoin too complex for mere mortals, we might be observing a classic "embrace, extend, and exterminate" attack.
