The very original Bitcoin was accessible to any serious developer. It could be understood and replicated by engineers. Today there is so much going on and much is above the heads of "serious developers" or engineers. This frightens me. If an elite makes Bitcoin too complex for mere mortals, we might be observing a classic "embrace, extend, and exterminate" attack.
