That’s why I said before emotions are good, and it’s natural to have them, but they need to be in check and not run rampant. What you said in that post wasn’t “truth” at the time of writing, it was your opinion, which you’re fully entitled to, but it wasn’t based on evidence. It was based on hearsay and emotion. Maybe evidence will surface that implicates the whole left in Charlie’s death, but until then, it isn’t truth. If that evidence does appear, I’ll be the first to acknowledge it. To put it another way: I could copy-paste your post, swap “left” for “right” and “Charlie” for a recently shot left-leaning politician, and claim “the right is responsible.” That would be just as unfounded, even though statistics show that most politically motivated killings in the U.S. in recent years were committed by right-wing extremists. Truth is paramount but letting emotions drive conclusions works directly against finding the truth. It's not "left" or "right", it's extremists and mentally ill people.

I’m speculating here but you sound like the kind of person who would have said this about Covid lockdowns. We didn’t/couldn’t know the truth at the time, only in retrospect was it clear. Is that something you might have said? Or am I off base?
