I think that future of huge percentage of "development" is simply "i will create it for myself". More and more people able to create any software solution they need. Buying something from someone else will be an option only for extremely big things that have large sums of data or very specific kind of hard to obtain data, not features. Basically features and development knowledge stop being moat. Data keeps on being moat....for now.....

DeepSeek has opensourced deepinfer, the software it uses to run its AI model. It distributes work across GPUs more efficiently, reduces repeated calculations and speeds up responses. Basically, more work on the same hardware and a lower cost per token. Other providers can now study how they did it, reuse the code or adapt relevant ideas for their own systems. That could lower their operating costs too. I reason that if someone can offer comparable quality for less money, everyone else has a reason to lower prices to keep their users. So even people who never use deepseek could benefit from this. Of course, lower costs can simply mean bigger profits for providers, but cheaper competition makes high prices harder to maintain. We have already seen it with latest OpenAI and Anthropic models. Once one side drops prices, another side has to drop em too.
