Seriously?
Their desperation is really starting to show...

What people missed on this dystopian day yesterday: EU Ban on self hosted wallets, even for smallest amounts now voted for by the parliament.

anonymously hosted wallets not self-hosted though I have no doubt that they'll come for those too. eventually
If roll the dice to make an address. Is this now an anonymously hosted wallet?
Self-hosted are too hard to get at. Didn't make the first round.
If you have a non-KYC account with Alby, that would be a anonymously hosted wallet or anonymous custodian wallet. If you run your own wallet (Electrum, for example) that's un-hosted. In their views anyway
LOL my Alby wallet is in danger.
I think every Wallet/Mechanism without KYC falls under this jurisdiction. I hope I'm wrong tho.
Would be a massive deterrent for new plebs and future bitcoiners
Either way, all of this is just ridiculous and they can go and drown in their shit
They transactions would be illegal too so if I zap you, that's me breaking the law.
Send from a self hosted wallet to an exchange. Be sure to kyc that wallet in the future.
to separate money and state is the goal
And not even a news about that on my Google News feed...
today is a strange day
Richtig! Es ist absichtlich so wage formuliert, dass nun praktisch jeder kriminell ist, der irgendwie mit Bargeld handelt oder Bitcoin Γberweisungen tΓ€tigt.
No wrong. It is about non-KYC hosted wallets. They can't touch P2P, only applies to P2B (yet)
The state won't play nice when we take control from them, and neither should we.
They can have fun trying to ban little basement cashu mints available only as Tor hidden service
this
Source?
it's a ban on HOSTED no KYC wallets which are basically honeypots anyway

*anonymous wallets* which means you can still self-host buy you need to kyc that wallet with exchanges if you want to use them. Also zaps to anonymous wallets might be illegal now
This is crazy. The doors are closing fast
indeed
Right. They'll come for those too. They just need to figure out the "how". Probably by declaring all users of self-hosted wallets as criminal money laundering drug dealers funding terrorists.
But we only launder money to fund our kiddie porn collection and Russian bribes. So, we're like politicians.
I use it for my narco business but don't tell anyone.
Iβm always saying it but itβs enjoyable, fuck the EU.
So WoS and Alby?
When will this be effective?
do we want their kyc zaps anyway?
KYC only relates to the person whose government ID is stapled to the address.
I know bro. was just a joke that depended on absurdity. My bad. poor delivery lol
