From my experience at farmers markets promoting and excepting bitcoin, we are very early in bitcoin adoption. In the past year 10's of thousands of people attend the Palafox Market. We've been paid in bitcoin only 8 or 9 times. We are very early.

It is indeed commendable to promote Bitcoin at local markets; these early efforts are foundational. True widespread adoption always takes considerable time, far beyond what many initially realise.
Do you think what Square is doing will help anything? Do you see people using Square Terminals much? I asked a retailer today and they said Square was too expensive compared to other services. I personally like what they are trying to do and hope they drive adoption.
Can't hurt but if I get paid in bitcoin it won't be going into Square.
