I don’t think so. You can download the new version and verify the signature on your current version of Sparrow before you switch to the new version

Just drag and drop one of the signature files on the Sparrow app window. It will auto recognize and perform the audit and present result. You can do this with other software you want to verify too.. for example drop the seed signer verification file on sparrow. You have to make sure though all signature files are in the same folder with the app file you want to verify
