🌊 SURF 'N TURF 🏝️ -THE BITCOIN ISLAND LIFE- image An original door leading into a 16th Century AD, prison at the “Doge’s Palace” in Venice - Italy Unlike many old prisons, the “Piombi” was situated in the attic of the palace, just beneath the lead-lined roof. Look at all the ironwork! The handles of the deadbolts are shaped like leaves. Even prison doors in the past had artistic flourishes. The Piombi was divided into six rooms, separated by wooden partitions strengthened with iron plates. Access was by two staircases, one located in the Sala dei Tre Capi (three chiefs room) and the other in a corridor near the Sala degli Inquisitori di Stato (Hall of the State Inquisitors). Some famous people who were imprisoned there include Paolo Antonio Foscarini and Giacomo Casanova. It's so much more than a door, it's a work of art I think. That has improved with the passage of time. 🧡
My friend's thesis focused on doors, drawing inspiration from the historical doors of Iranian houses. I remember how hardworking she was while crafting these doors. With its rich history, Iran offers a fascinating narrative in every period, beautifully reflected in these architectural details.

Absolutely amazing 😍. This is how doors should be made. Such an impact and important part of the house. True art in architecture.
