... And technically, if I understand correct, each and every "zap" is a taxable event for those within the "land of the free"? IDK whether Bitcoin should be considered a currency or commodity, but whatever reform allows this dumb-ass legal regime to sunset, I'm all for it.
No government would approve of giving up their monopoly of money. He is simply framing it in a way that they could support. Bitcoin is money regardless. He’s using this narrative as a Trojan horse. I think people aren’t giving him enough credit
I would disagree on your first sentence. During the 19th century up until WWI, a lot of governments didn’t have the monopoly on money and didn’t do the worse for it. It‘s all up to the ethics of those in power IMHO. And reverting to sound money would be one heck of a legacy for any president!
True but now that they have it, they won’t let it go so easily. Even trump believes in US dollar dominance.

The fun part is when you fly over there… buy the gold… and then their government officials rob you as you’re about to fly back. At least that’s what happened to a family friend. Gotta meet them in Dubai but at that point there is no point in them giving you a discount they can get it assayed and bought by a big dog. Rant complete
