If you are staying inside Uvita you donโt *need* a car or motorbike, everything is walkable. If you are staying outside of town, or just want to take trips to nearby beaches/waterfalls and stuff itโs really helpful. I probably would go crazy not having one tbh, all depends on your plans. Rental cars are fairly expensive here but you can find better deals if renting long term (30 days+). Motorbikes are cheaper but remember it rains. A LOT ๐
Thanks! Going in February-March, heard it doesnโt rain so much then. Maybe motorbike is the play, I want to go surfing a lot, is it necessary to have transport to the beach?
The beach in Uvita is beautiful and walkable right from town but not for surfing. Best surfing beaches like Playa Hermosa or Dominical youโll need transport to get to ๐โโ๏ธ
i rented a bike while i was there and it was awesome
Great advice from others here. For lodging 3 options are Flor de Bambรบ nostr:nprofile1qqsy2dhuzx5wx037km0en6hvknlf8gn99yq07d0xg4qvgw8x8xmueugpy9mhxw309ahx7um5wf4xztttv9exjttgw368qtngv4nh2un09e3k7mgpr9mhxw309a382emdv9hzumt8w4ujumn9wsargwp58qgw7xyn , Shipwrecked Hostel & Uvita Bali Bosque (longer stays, tell them Bitcoin Jungle sent you). All accept Bitcoin. For car rentals, there are some people that do private rentals, reach out to us on WhatsApp (from Bj wallet) for some contacts.
Same here. Just arrived in Costa Rica and planning a short 1 week visit to El Salvador and longer stay in Peru. Any tips and recommendations are welcome!
For Surf City, you can take a bus on the main road just outside of the bus station in San Salvador. El Tunco is more touristic, if you prefer shops and all. Personally I prefer El Zonte. Fewer options, but good ones in terms of food. Way more options to spends sats. And more relaxed vibe, to my taste. But that was August, low season apparently. Ow yeah, along the coast itself, you can take a bus, Uber or perhaps rent a motor.
Post lots of pictures!
For taxi transfer in El Salvador I had good experience with https://bitdriver.taxi/
Good for you, I'd love to visit Uvita too some time!
I DMโd you

I agree with all of this.
The bus is frequent and easy. I stayed in El Zonte and took the bus every day. No idea why some are .50 and some are $1.50 but it says on the side plainly enough.
I like the vibe in El Zonte best but El Tunco is probably more fun for the 20-30 crowd.
A ~20 min cab ride to La libertad at night is about $30

I mean budget determines a lot. On the low end, if you're in el zonte no need for a car. However it's possible to rent for the day informally from the shop where the first bitcoin payment was accepted. I recommend eating at Vikingo when they are open and making a reservation. You can get transport from the airport, I have a driver friend that we've relied on dm me.
In Uvita I'd say get a car. Restaurants are great and don't miss Dominical, especially the Indian restaurant there it's ๐ฅ
"You'll find El Zonte to be very chill.El Tunco also has a relaxed vibe, but it gets much busier on the weekends. For shopping, El Tunco has a cool local store called Nekos Market and a dedicated smoke shop called Nomad."
