Been brainstorming solutions for @Bitcoin Beans and thought it’d be a good idea to #asknostr too. If you’re a merchant with unreliable internet, what’s a good no-KYC setup to accept payments? So far I’ve got: 🟠 Alby Cloud 🟠 ZEUS node in the phone 🟠 BTCPay Server on a VPS Would love to hear your thoughts with any pros and cons. I plan to create a longform post at some point so other merchants can refer to it in the future. 🧡🤙

Same experience here too with kraken since 1 Jan 2026, way more requests for info including tax reference number. With the help of @The Bullish ₿itcoiner we are going to go full NKYC this year.

From my experiences recently…. Zeus invoices from the node in the phone are unreliable unfortunately… The pos functionality in Zeus is ecash/cashu based now(?) haven’t tried to use it yet as I don’t really want to use ecash/cashu as it’s still way to beta softwarey for me… Kinda not sure myself on what to do lol…
Ecash can be nice when internet is unreliable since payments can be received offline. Not good for large amounts though so it might be best to use ecash as the POS and transfer balances to self-custody lightning when internet allows.
Getting a umbrel or start9 hosting your own stuff fully but needs more knowledge and time But it be almost bulletproof .. Or use like minibits to get a lightning address use minibits with lightning or Ecash And it can use NFC payments now so for small businesses it could become big .. But would need to move it to a full on-chain wallet regularly for safety
