At my son's first football game, they just did the national anthem and you could hear a pin drop. Every single person looked at the flag, with hats over hearts. I'd nearly forgotten what small town America feels like.

Fuck the state’s flag let’s bring back family flags. Have the kids run into the field carrying a flag with the family’s crest on it
oh yeah, that's right. the gold foil was full fat, to symbolise the cream. i think maybe there was blue for homogenised and gold for not homogenised, both full fat. the blue didn't settle out quickly, the gold would get a buttery plug at the top, and usually had some already plugging by the time the milkman brought it.
yeah, it might have been skim. gay. who invented that shit anyway. oh yeah, big agra trying to sell seed oils. "saturated fat is bad mkay" i never knew nothing of this back then. i remember the gold caps. i had no idea. keep in mind that if you had showed me a stick of butter at the age of 4 i would have ate the whole thing. but instead, i got margarine.
nah, i'm pretty sure back in my day blue meant "homogenised" which meant it was blended hard so it emulsified. the gold caps they had a chunk of cream/butter at the top of them and would accrete that over the few days after it was delivered. then there was skim, i forget what color. red maybe. it was basically the gold with a mechanical filter to remove the solid cream out of it. idk how "skim" became normal. but it had something to do with selling palm oil, or sunflower oil, or chemically extracted olive oil.
